Amadeus originated from two individuals wanting to give back to the parish that has given them so much. Charlotte and Clodagh were blessed enough to experience the Catholic Church far beyond Communion and Confirmation. They were shown that it can be fun, interesting, challenging, and everything in between. Now they feel it is time for them to show a new generation what we experienced not too long ago.
Amadeus hopes to bring young people to the church in an engaging new and challenging way. The name Amadeus meaning loved by God is something all young people should know.
Amadeus is a Catholic Youth Group for young people from 1st Year to 6th Year. Returns in September and will take place every Wednesday from 7pm to 8:30pm in Newbridge Parish Centre.
The leaders are: Charlotte Vard, Amy Kinsella, Seán Murphy and Saraid Hartnett.

After two years of faith, fun and laughter and as the Amadeus Youth Group went into its third year, Charlotte and Clodagh thought about what was next, and how else can they contribute to the Parish. A choir seemed the obvious choice. Something that they felt was needed in St. Conleths Parish. Amadeus Youth Choir was formed in October 2017.
The Pope John Paul II Award is a faith achievement award for young people between the age of 16 and 18. It is non-competitive, inclusive, flexible and voluntary.
The Award enables participants to take an active part in the life of their parish, in the life of their community and society. It enables young people to become more aware of the teaching and role of the Catholic Church in the world and to engage at a deep level with Christ.
Awards are earned by taking part in parish and social activities – 1 hour per week over 8, 14 or 20 weeks. There are 3 Award levels – Gold, Silver & Bronze.
Those who have completed the Gold Award have a further option of completing the Papal Cross Award.
