Practice for First Communion Day May 11th

The practice for you and your child will take place in the appropriate Church at the following times.

PRACTICE in PARISH CHURCH
Tuesday 7th May at 8.00pm  for First Communions Celebration at 10.30 a.m.
Thursday 9th May at 7.00pm  First Communions Celebration  at 12.30 p.m.
Thursday 9th May at 8.00pm  First Communions Celebration at 2.30 p.m.

PRACTICE in DOMINICAN CHURCH
Tuesday 7th May at 7.00pm First Communions Celebration at 11.00 a.m.

PRACTICE in CILL MHUlRE CHURCH
Tuesday 7th May at 7.00pm First Communions Celebration at 11.30 a.m.
Tuesday 7th May at 8.00pm First Communions Celebration  at 1.30 p.m.

To help with the preparation for this great family occasion,

Confessions will be available on Saturday 4th May: – 11.00 a.m – 12.00 noon in St. Conleth’s Parish Church  12 noon – Ip.m in Cill Mhuire Church

It is very important for you and your child to attend your particular practice and to be punctual.

As large numbers of children will be receiving First Communion at each Mass, only one seat/ pew, will be allocated to each family.

SEPTEMBER 2012
Parents’ Meetings – Helping your child prepare for First Holy Communion.

= Wednesday September 26th Cill Mhuire 8.00 p.m.

= Thursday September 27th Parish Church 8.00 p.m.

= Set up Prayer Space in your home.

= Use prayer card for morning and evening prayer.

OCTOBER 2012
Enrolment weekend : October 6th and 7th at all Masses.

= Bring enrolment card to Church.

= Place a Rosary Beads in your Prayer Space.

= Pray a decade of the rosary with your child every day.

= (See leaflet explaining the Rosary).

= Visitation Team will visit homes (optional).

NOVEMBER 2012
Parents’ Meeting – Helping your child understand the Mass.

= Tuesday November 6th Cill Mhuire 8.00 p.m.

= Thursday November 8th Parish Church 8.00 p.m.

=Read leaflet explaining the Mass.

= Children will bring a leaf to any Mass during November as a reminder to pray for those who have died.

Faith groups will begin (Optional small groups).
=Session One : Bible stories for your child.
= Session Two : Helpin your child understand the Mass.
= Session Three : Helping your child grow in faith.
= Cill Mhuire on Tuesdays at 11.00 a.m.
= Parish Centre on Thursdays at 8.00 p.m.

DECEMBER 2012
= Children will make and bring a Birthday card for Jesus to Mass in any of the Churches.

= Place a crib in your home.

= Read Bible stories with your child i.e The Christmas Story.

JANUARY 2013
Blessing of Holy Water.

= Children will bring a small bottle to the Church and will be given some Holy Water to bring home. (find out times Holy Water is used).

= Catholic Schools Week.

FEBRUARY 2013
Parents’ meeting – Helping your child prepare for First Penance.

= Cill Mhuire Tuesday 26th February at 8.00 p.m.

= Parish Church Thursday 28th February at 8.00 p.m.

= Read leaflet on First Penance.

= Pray Act of Sorrow each day.

= Place a St Brigid’s Cross and a Trocaire Box in your prayer space.

MARCH 2013
First Penance.

= Cill Mhuire Tuesday 5th March at 7.30 p.m.

=Parish Church Thursday 7th March at 8.00 p.m.

= Parish Church Saturday 9th March at 11.00 a.m.

Easter Ceremonies:
= Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday.

Good Friday
= Childrens Stations of the Cross Parish  (outdoor) 11.30 a.m. and Cill Mhuire (indoor)  7.00 p. m.

APRIL 2013
Learn Mass Responses and Postures (when to stand, sit, kneel?).

=Learn the prayers Before and After Communion.

MAY 2013
FIRST COMMUNION CELEBRATIONS Saturday May 11th.

= Write a prayer welcoming Jesus in Holy Communion
