Volunteering with Family Carers Ireland An opportunity to join our successful Befriending Service. The service is based on visiting someone’s home with the aim of providing companionship to help combat social isolation and loneliness. Visits will initially involve a simple cup of tea & chat and may develop to include shared interests. In addition the volunteer may bring the service user out or accompany them to an appointment e.g. social or religious event, providing the security of company. Volunteers are required in the Newbridge and surrounding areas. Befriending is a one-to-one, non-judgmental relationship where you can volunteer your time to support and provide companionship to someone. Full training will be provided.
