Fr Paul Dempsey P.P., V.F.
Fr Paul Dempsey became our parish priest on 1st September, 2015. He is originally from Carlow Town but his family moved to Athy in later years. Ordained in 1997, Fr. Paul served in Clane, Kildare, Naas & Two Mile House parishes. He was Youth Director and Vocations Director for the Diocese from 2004 to 2008. He has also worked in local media, has had a column in the “Leinster Leader” and a religious affairs programme on KFM Radio. He completed an honours Masters Degree in Theology in “Faith & Culture” in 2009.
Bishop Nulty appointed Fr. Paul “Vicar Forane” (V.F.) for Kildare & Leiglin North Deanery in 2014. There are 17 parishes in this deanery and the “Vicar” is given certain responsibilities on behalf of the bishop in the deanery.

Fr. Michael Cudzillo C.C.
Fr Michael is a native of Lublin in Poland and it was at the Catholic University in Lublin that he studied for the priesthood. His family live on the outskirts of the city.
He came to serve in Newbridge in 2012. He lives in the Curates’ House on Chapel Lane and can be contacted at 045 438036.

Fr. Paul hails from Tralee, Co. Kerry. He is a member of the Dominican Community and joined the Parish Team in June, 2018. Fr. Paul brings a vast amount of experience to his ministry in Newbridge having taught Church History in Rome for many years and also worked in a parish there. For the past twenty years or so, Fr. Paul worked in a parish in Tehran. We are delighted to have him ministering among us in Newbridge!
Fr. Eugen (Eugene) Dragos Tamas C.C.

Fr. Eugen took up his appointment in Newbridge on the 1st of August, 2018. He is from Bacau, Romania. Fr. Eugen is three years ordained and comes from the Diocese of Yasi in Romania. He came to Kildare and Leighlin Diocese a year ago and has done supply work in the parishes of Tinryland in Carlow and Stradbally in Laois. It is great to have Fr. Eugen on our Parish Team and look forward to working with him over the coming years.

Fr. Joe is originally from Carlow Town. After ordination Fr. Joe spent a short time in Knockbeg College and then came to Newbridge to serve as curate in 1970. In the 1980s Fr. Joe served in Naas and then set up Teach Brid in Tullow, Co. Carlow, to serve the needs of young people in the Diocese. In 1993, Fr. Joe returned to Newbridge as Parish Priest. On the 1st of September, 2015, Fr. Joe retired as Parish Priest and continues to serve as curate in Newbridge and Caragh.

Deacon Jim has lived in Newbridge since 1999 with his his wife Carmel. He has two adult children Emma and Philip and three grandchildren. He has been actively engaged in Church ministry from his teens when he studied for the priesthood with the Salesians in Dublin & Maynooth. He subsequently pursued a career in HR Management and ICT Support in various companies. He currently works in Human Resource Management in Dublin.
On October 13th 2013 he was ordained for the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin by Bishop Denis Nulty. Jim has been appointed by Bishop Denis to serve in the parish of Newbridge.

Our Parish Centre is situated on the Station Rd. The Centre houses the Citizens’ Information Centre and ACCORD. It also houses the Parish Shop, where people can purchase various religious items and gifts.

Monday & Friday: 10.00am – 9.00pm
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 10.00am – 10.30pm
(The Parish Centre remains open between 5.00pm & 7.00pm Monday – Friday.)

Donal is a native of Wexford, he left there at the age of 19 to join the army where he served for 22 years,
On the 1st of September, 2015, Fr. Paul appointed Donal to the post of Parish Administrator. He also acts as Parish Centre Manager and works in the area of pastoral ministry.

Parish Pastoral Council

There has been a Parish Pastoral Council in Newbridge for many years. The Council is a partnership of priests and laypeople who together work to build up the Christian Community in Newbridge. It is concerned with deepening faith through education and celebration of the sacraments, future planning for the parish and developing lay participation.
