Caragh Parish Pastoral Council
Open Invitation
A new pastoral Council is being set up in Caragh Parish to help promote and support the pastoral concerns of the parish.
An information night, open to all comers will take place on
Wednesday 8th September next at 8 pm
in the new Parish Meeting Room at the Church.
This will be followed by 3 nights training on the following Wednesday nights of September 15th, 22nd 29th at 8.00pm
No commitment will be asked for until after this training programme.
There are many people of all age groups who have various talents and interests and also a commitment to the faith here in Caragh.
So please give some consideration and thought to this development, to share responsibility for the faith community of Caragh.
Looking forward to seeing you,
CARAGH conference will hold their Annual Collection at the church door on Saturday Dec. 10th and Sunday Dec. 11th. We appeal to you to contribute as generously as you can so that we can continue to help those in our local community who are experiencing financial difficulties in the present economic circumstances.
The local conference meets once a month and we visit individuals and families who have requested our help. All help is given on a confidential basis. We can help with providing fuel or basic essentials. We can also help families to access education grants, and provide a point of contact for budgeting advice. We have established links with the major energy providers such as the E.S.B. & An Bord Gais and can help negotiate longer time for payment of bills under certain conditions. We also visit people who are lonely and just need a caller now and then.
All work is voluntary. Request for help may be made to our dedicated helpline 087 6462366 or to the parish office.
Our main source of income is our Annual Collection, the Caragh N.S. Carol Service and the contributions made by companies and individuals during the year. Donations may be left in the Parish Office. Corporate and individual donations will be acknowledged by receipt if requested.
