Profile: Fr. Willie is a native of Tynock, Co. Carlow and present is a Curate in Newbridge Parish. He is the eldest of a family of five. He joined the Irish Air Corps as an apprentice technician in 1968 and served for 21 years retiring in 1989. He then went as a student to Carlow College (1989-1995) and worked one year as a deacon (1995 -1996) in Stoke Newington in London’s East end. He was ordained priest on July 7th 1996 and his first appointment was Tullow, Co. Carlow (1996-2003) followed by three years in Kilcock-Newtown Parish (2003-2006).
