Profile: Fr. Joe is a native of Carlow town. He was educated in Knockbeg College and St. Patrick’s College Maynooth. His first appointment was to Knockbeg College for the duration of one year. In 1970 he began an eleven year stint in Newbridge as curate. In 1981 he took up an appointment working with young people in the diocese. This appointment ended in 1988 when he was appointed as curate to Naas for four years. Having spent one year as army chaplain in the Curragh he was appointed Parish Priest in Newbridge in 1993 where he has remained since.
