Welcome to Newbridge and Caragh Parishes
Welcome, and thank you for visiting our parish website. The parish of St Conleth is one of the largest in the country. The population within the parish boundaries is more than 25,000. The Christian presence in this area dates back continuously to the times of St Brigid and St Conleth who were contemporaries in the 5th century.
Friends of Calcutta, an Irish registered charity founded in 1994 is a totally voluntary organisation which is very closely associated with the ongoing humanitarian work in Calcutta (now known as Kolkata). From very humble beginnings through the gathering together of returned volunteers in Fermoy, Co. Cork in 1994, to raise funds for Sr.Cyrils’ much needed night shelter for vulnerable girls; the organization has grown to today funding many projects which serve the most marginalised, both in the Kolkata and throughout the state of West Bengal.
They will be in our parish next week to facilitate a “Used Clothing Collection” for their Charity.
